Explore International Business & Marketing in Gothenburg, Sweden!

This study tour will focus on international business and marketing in Sweden, the largest country in Scandinavia. We’ll also explore the history, culture, and politics that have shaped Sweden into a global trading powerhouse. The course is divided into three engaging modules:

Module #1 (Week 1) – Theory & Preparation (Carthage College)

Before we head off to Sweden, we’ll start with lectures on the basics of international business and marketing. We’ll also touch on Swedish history and culture and teach you how to create your own WordPress blog.

Module #2 (Weeks 2-3) – Experiential Learning (Gothenburg, Sweden)

Get ready for an amazing mix of lectures and field trips. You’ll visit top Swedish companies like ABB Robotics, Volvo, Saab, SKAPA, and ASCOM, where you’ll have the chance to meet senior executives. Plus, Gothenburg University will bring in local experts to give private lectures. After a day of business, we’ll dive into Sweden’s culture with evening and weekend activities. Oh, and don’t forget to keep up with your blog throughout the trip!

Module #3 (Week 4) – Reflection (Carthage College)

Back at Carthage, you’ll reflect on everything you’ve learned and experienced and wrap it up with a final paper of your insights.

This year’s trip will follow a schedule similar to the last trip (see below), offering a packed itinerary filled with exciting activities, company visits, and cultural experiences! However, please note that every trip is different, and the schedule is subject to change based on availability and unforeseen circumstances. Rest assured, we’ll still pack in all the incredible experiences that make this trip so memorable. Get ready for two weeks of learning, exploring, and making unforgettable memories in Gothenburg, Sweden!

Price: $2,950* per person (with a $950 deposit due by May 1, 2025, and the remainder due by October 1, 2025). This cost covers almost everything, making it an excellent value for an international study tour. Here's what’s included:

Round-trip airfare from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) to Gothenburg (GOT).
All airport transfers to and from the airport in Gothenburg and to Chicago O’Hare.
Lodging in shared rooms (you’ll be staying in a comfortable, centrally located hostel).
All breakfasts, dinners, and most lunches throughout the trip—keeping you fueled for the day’s activities and adventures.
An unlimited transportation pass for the duration of the trip, covering bus, tram, and ferry rides around the city.
All events and activities, including company visits, cultural experiences, guided tours, cooking school, hockey game, and more.

While the trip includes almost everything you need, there are a few extra costs to keep in mind:

A few lunches on weekends when you’ll have free time to explore on your own.
Snacks and personal purchases during your free time.
Gifts or souvenirs to bring back from Sweden.
