Gothenburg (Göteborg in Swedish) is Sweden’s second-largest city and a lively hub for business, culture, and innovation. Located on the picturesque west coast, the city beautifully blends historic charm with modern energy. Known for its strong maritime heritage, global companies like Volvo and ABB Robotics, and a flourishing startup community, Gothenburg is a place where industries thrive and ideas flourish. With its friendly atmosphere, efficient public transportation, and stunning waterfront, it’s the perfect spot for both work and play.
I had the privilege of working out of Gothenburg for a couple of years, and it quickly became my favorite city to visit. I love sharing it with my students, giving them the chance to experience the energy and charm of the city I hold so dear. Gothenburg is not just a business hub; it’s a city full of life and adventure. You can stroll through Slottsskogen Park, sip coffee at the cozy cafés along Avenyn (the city's main boulevard), or take a ferry ride to the stunning archipelago islands. Food lovers will delight in the city’s world-renowned seafood and its growing reputation for innovative cuisine.
